As we need a very comfortable vehicle, the passengers must not bend their body. They will enter the vehicle by opening the front or rear door(BMW-Isetta principle). These doors have 2 hingesto enable an angle of about 60 – 70 degrees on both sides.
As the average speed will not exceed 50 ks/hr the k-value of the vehicle can be close to 1.
The doors consist ofa mechanical window opener modul and a electrical wind screen wiper. To avoid high energy air condition installation, ventilation will be enabled by opening the front door window.
The doors are mechanically identical and therefore can be fixed to the body on opposite sides in front and rear.There is no cockpit in the front of the vehicle. All controls are based in the middle of the front seats, so we have no extra system for right-or left hand drive.
The rear door and the rear seats can be easily deposited for voluminous transports. Instead of the seat a flexible platform can be inserted, which can be enlarged like a ladder for better handling.
The body will have 2 pillars only and will be performed as a round shaped trapezium with3 parellelalluminium pipesto stabilize a safety cell against crash from all sides. For the front crash and rear crashthe doors are protected with pipes filled with alu foam.( see BorgwardLoyd Alexander configuration)
In case of a side crash, the big spoke wheels with their suspension will give enough stability.
The body frame is closed by silver coloured plastic panels, which are clamped withstandardized holders.
On each side we have one window in Plexiglass execution, without window opener.
The glasses are coloured for sun protection.
The standardizedplatform is rectangularlybuilt with alu pipes (see Loyd Alexander by Borgward 1950). Forweight distribution we have a X-shaped alu piping and above a layer ofa thin corugated steel or a heavy plastic tub, with holders for batteries and seats. For easy assembly the holders consist clamps and openings for cables.
Because the body is standardized, we can fix all kinds of shaped panels onto for any wanted voluminous shape of the vehicle. This will happen at the 2 last stations in assembly and that gives the customer a very long chance for his wishes. Furthermore the colouring has the widest range of variations, because there is no need for a high investment intensive paint shop. We add every colour or signs with foils on top of the panels in the very last step before final test.
The small sized roof can be snapped off the vehicle during sunny periods and can be performed in all wanted shapes and/or containers.
